Than Us
It’s Bigger Than Us (IBTU) is a Los Angeles-based non profit that is helping wildfire victims with relief and rebuilding. IBTU provides disaster relief, recovery, and resilience by mobilizing resources, connecting survivors to essential services, and fostering long-term community support. Their mission is to create a world where no one faces disaster alone, and every survivor has the opportunity to rebuild stronger than before.
How IBTU is helping those affected by wildfires:
Essential Resources & Volunteer Activation
For our immediate response our primary focus is providing urgent relief to affected individuals, with access and distribution of essential supplies such as food, clothes, personal care and infant care.
Linkage to Services
As this crisis stabilizes, we are connecting disaster survivors with long-term recovery resources. Helping individuals and families rebuild their lives with sustainable systems including education and school support, legal and government assistance and connections to community organizations.
Long-Term Relational Building
IBTU knows this is a marathon, not a sprint. Our final phase ensures sustainable recovery and community resilience. This phase is focused on building long-term support systems so that affected Angelenos don’t just survive the crisis but thrive afterward, including ongoing community support, resilience planning, mental health services, housing & economic stability programs and policy advocacy.

Fire Relief Fund
The LA Arts Community Fire Relief Fund is a Getty-led coalition of major arts organizations and philanthropists providing emergency relief for artists and arts workers in all disciplines who have lost residences, studios, archives, artworks, or livelihoods or have otherwise been impacted by the devastating Los Angeles fires.
We have helped the Fund with their first round of grants to Angelenos in the creative industries.
